The cleverly engineered light weight tubular steel frame of our XXL-Rehab Minimaxx wheelchair is designed to provide the strength and rigidity required to safely transport bariatric patients over significant distances while still being easy to fold for more convenient storage. It also ensures that the overall weight of this attendant propelled wheelchair is kept to a minimum.
*Each wheelchair requires an XXL-Rehab Anatomical Cushion, for comfort and pressure relief, available in 4 widths – 56cm, 61cm, 66cm and 71cm. (Purchased separately)
Optional: Attendant-operated, ‘Disc Brakes’ improve safety for both patient and carer. (Note: This factory fitted option must be requested at time of ordering)
- Adjustable backrest for added patient comfort; may be removed for laundering if necessary
- Removable, anatomically shaped, 14cm dual layer static foam cushion includes a top layer of viscoelastic memory foam for additional pressure relief; enclosed in a 2 way stretch vapour permeable and waterproof PU fabric cover with HF welded seams for improved infection control
- Height adjustable push handles, with ergonomically designed handgrips (angled inwards), to reduce stress on wrists and shoulders
- Removable PU cushioned armrests for improved patient access and easier cleaning
- Large rear wheels, with solid rubber tyres and hand rims, are designed to give patients the option of manoeuvring and propelling themselves
- Option to manually reposition the rear wheels to improve centre of gravity for individual patients
- Each rear wheel fitted with a hand operated wheel brake to secure the Minimaxx when parked
- All swivel front castors for improved manoeuvrability
- Anti-tippers fitted behind rear wheels to increase stability
- Robust, height adjustable, footrests are engineered to support up to 100kg each. They are also designed for easy removal or to swing out of the way, for improved patient access. In addition, the ‘soft touch’ rubber-coated steel footplates are sideways adjustable to allow patients to bring their legs closer together or spread them out as needed

The addition of the optional attendantdriven ‘Push Assist’ function greatly reduces the manual handling involved in manoeuvring and transporting patients of significant size in any healthcare facility, especially when the route to be traversed includes ramps and other gradients.
